I must admit it … I am not that competent to bring back a broken system as complicated as my 2 years old Linux box. so many patches for minor problems seems to have piled up to reach a tipping point, now I have a broken Xorg, GRUB and so many unused and improperly defined filesystems.
I think it’s about time to have a brand new system and to start clean.
right now I am moving all partitions into a single large archive to refer to it later when needed, and will have quite a large one for the root filesystem. Then I will install a fresh copy of Ubuntu 10.04 32 bits version and start a long journey of patching the system until I reach the most recent Linux image.
No added applications for the time being until this box is up to date.
